A Child Is Given To Us

20111224-150204.jpg Here we are… So much preparation, and we are nearly ready to celebrate the Holy Night of Our Lord’s Birth. For the last few days, our house has been full of the smells of chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, mince pies and this morning, the most divine hot chocolate which we dunked croissants into (thank you Jamie Oliver!). As we prepare our homes, may we also prepare our hearts – may the Christ Child not find a busy, bustling inn with no room for Him, but rather a humble and empty manger ready to be his abode.

I’d like to wish all my readers a most happy and holy Christmas! May the Christ Child fill your heart with joy and peace as we approach another new year.

About transformedinchrist

I live in Southsea and work for the Diocese of Portsmouth. My first love is for catechesis and evangelisation: until January 2013, I worked for a busy, thriving parish in south London coordinating the catechesis - sacramental programmes and adult formation. In November 2013, I completed my MA in catechetics at Maryvale Institute, Birmingham. View all posts by transformedinchrist
